Abstract

IMPROVING OF NATIONAL INTEGRATION IN  THE BHINNEKA TUNGGAL IKA FRAMEWORK THROUGH PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING MODEL FOR CLASS X IPA

The material about national integration in the frame of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity) is one of the most essential materials in Civics for the students of Senior High School students, especially the students of SMA Negeri 5 Berau. Based of the observation and exercises given, it is shown the fact the mastery of the material is still unsatisfied, especially the mastery of solving the problem given to students.

This action research is conducted to solve the problem in mastering the material about national integration in the frame of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity) in two cycles. The result shows that the average score of students in the bravery of expressing something and the problem solving is increased from 70. 33% to 85.55%, it increased 15.22%.

The teaching learning process of Civics material, especially national integration in the frame of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity) topic can be taught by implementing Problem Based  Learning Model. It is also suggested that this model can also be implemented in another subjects material.
